Arianna and Sandra’s adventure began with their graduation from the Istituto d’arte in Cascina and continued in Florence, a city which represents Italian culture around the word, where they attended Art College. Here, they acquired the foundation of their goldsmith technique and craftsmanship. So, in 1980 began the artists’ journey, when la Bottega orafa Il Carato was opened in the 14th-century clock tower of Cascina, situated in the heart of Tuscany.
The majority of their products are inspired by costume jewellery, designed and created in their own workshop, where the main focus is creativity, shape, color and material.
The transition from jewellery to be worn to jewellery for decoration – Oltrenatura - was a creative fusion but with different materials. Nature – with its animals and flowers – has accompanied us throughout our artistic journey. The cut of the stone is transformed into the cut of the wood….non-noble metal is worked with goldsmith mastery and magical poetry.
