   LA TRADIZIONE DELL'ARTIGIANATO 

Marco Bonechi was born in Florence in 1944 and has lived with his wife Franca for over 50 years in Figline and Incisa Valdarno, in the southern countryside of Florence. Staring in the 1980s he devoted himself to sculpture, rivisiting the tradition of glazed terracotta reminiscent of the Della Robbia, including bronze and silver castings as well. For his works Marco Bonechi draws not only on his sensitivity towards the history of art, but above all on the archive of his personal memories, bringing out from the oldest part of his own self the strong and tenacious emotion of personal and family experiences in which "tha magic of presepe" , the tale of Pinocchio and many mythological stories are part of a ritual of lived events.
