Lapo Giannini and Michiko Kuwata established ATELIERGK FIRENZE in 2010, integrating six generations of family history and over twenty years experience in bookbinding, conservation and crafting of novelty items. Traditional Florentine techniques merge with Japanese meticulous attention to the aesthetic details, using high quality materials and equipment aiming to produce
and restore functional luxury items for the home.
They operate on the philosophy of: “striving for perfection and innovation without neglecting the past, in creating art pieces to be preserved over the coming centuries.”
In 2018, ATELIERGK FIRENZE was selected by the Michelangelo Foundation, Switzerland, as the “Best Master Craftsmen of Europe” together with other European artists, for the “Homo Faber” event held in September at the Giorgio Cini Foundation, Venice.
