 ESPERIENZE DI RICERCA 

Atelier Terre is a contemporary hardstone marquetry studio founded in 2018 by Philip Kron Morelli, joined by Arianne Palla as co-founder. Philip and Arianne both trained as a conservator-restorers at the school of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, where they were introduced to the Florentine craft of hardstone marquetry called "commesso in pietre dure". Learning the craft within the walls of the ancient manufactory that created and perfected this technique inspired them to strive towards reinterpreting its traditional rules to meet contemporary aesthetics. At Atelier Terre, they create unique jewellery and collectible pieces experimenting with translucency, lightness and
volume. At the core of their work is the fascination for the infinite reservoir of shapes and colours naturally found in stones, which guides each of their creations, as well as the technical challenge of pushing the boundaries of traditional stone working.
