Silvia Logi is a self-taught Florentine artist. The beginning of her career coincided with the intuition that the materials she found in nature could become the elementary particles of works that were already taking shape in her head, composing the same natural elements in ever different forms. Silvia's art and technique stem from observing the perfection that already resides within a natural element: the grain of a leaf, a spiral-shaped seed or the concentric circles of a section of wood. Since 2006, she has quickly turned this intuition and great passion into a job. She challenges herself to enhance these elements, leaving them recognisable in her works, but at the same time making them an elementary language to depict different subjects each time: an acorn can become the eye of an owl, a pine cone becomes the fin of a fish... The challenge also lies in juxtaposing different materials with a great sense of play but also of harmony, where the natural part clearly prevails and the artificial elements (old irons, buttons, mirrors for example) remain in the minority as details of the work. Thanks to the infinite possibilities of wood combined with the revolutionary use that Silvia makes of it together with other materials, an expressive language of 'material fusion' is born that navigates on free routes between art and craftsmanship, overcoming and erasing their boundaries. Her works are a magical dialogue between Man and Nature, where the latter is both language and main subject. Silvia's childlike soul emerges above all in the Fairy Tales and Legends 'illustrated' on old planks with verticalised landscapes that seem to want to reach an ever higher 'Elsewhere', attainable and at the same time elusive and, for this very reason, inspiration for a new work. Other 'families' of subjects much loved by Silvia are the colourful dreamy animals and finally the cities on planks, pallets and salvaged fixtures, where the human element coexists harmoniously with Nature.
